“Business Name Ideas”.co for Your Company

Just this month the .co domain, which is Colombia’s country domain, was opened for the public. The .CO Internet S.A.S, the company that runs the domain registry, really expends careful thought and tremendous efforts before launching the speculated next generic TLD.

.CO even organized .CO Founders Program aimed at giving the early adopters to get the shortest and most memorable domain names which are very important when you name your business. In addition, the early registrants will be promoted and have a chance to get featured in the .CO aggressive marketing and advertising program. The participants of this program in return are asked to promote their own domains, too, for the benefit of the whole .Community. The program offers a good win-win benefit for the first companies who secured a .co domain and many see that this is a good investment. In fact, lots of big brands have secured and enrolled in the program. This is a good sign especially for the small and new internet business.

There is a great potential that the .co extension based on the .CO’s survey results. They found out that out of the 600 respondent, 75 percent of them do not associate .co as a typo for .com. This means that there is a great possibility that the .co extension could really deliver a substantial aftermarket value.

The fact that there are lots of big brands who have secured their own domain names on the launching date is a good sign. This shows that many believed that .co could potentially a generic TLD and effectively deliver same results as the .com.

However, all these are still speculations and remains to be seen. Nobody knows whether those who invested large amounts on new business name ideas with the .co domain will harvest big or lose big bucks. Still, as with any other investments, there will always be risks to take. Make sure you have calculated your risks wisely.
